Meanwhile, I kept doing photography and video production for my clients. I noticed two things:

• Though professional, many of my clients’ team members did not know much about their colleagues. It made me realise that you can walk side-by-side with someone you see every day, and still know very little about them.
   

• The most popular videos are those that feature subjects who are willing to be vulnerable and share their stories. Always, without fail.

In a move that I thought was unrelated, I started running a monthly networking event three and a half years ago. As time passed, I realised that our conversations didn’t really scratch the surface, months or even years into seeing one another on a monthly basis.

And that’s when it clicked. The world is desperate for deeper relationships, but they have no idea how to make that happen. We’ve been so conditioned to using pithy one liners, especially online, that our ability to navigate conversations of real value has been stunted. 

So, I created Hello Human, a guided interaction tool that transforms how we communicate. Using question cards and structured gameplay, it creates a fun, safe environment to go beyond the obvious. 

Most who have played the game were a little unsure of what to expect, but the stats show that they found it 20% easier to connect with others than before the sessions, and 86% said that it was a fun experience.
